Effective November 5, 2026
These terms govern your use of elevtrader.com, including the marketplace, forum, job board and the Ask Joey assistant. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.
Who can use ElevTrader
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use ElevTrader for a company, you confirm you are authorized to act for it.
Accounts and verification
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may require verification of your email, phone number, mailing address and business identity before you can buy, sell, post or apply. Information you provide must be true and current.
- We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these terms, give false information, or put other members at risk.
Listings and sales between members
- Only list parts you have the right to sell. Describe condition, part numbers and compatibility accurately and include real photos.
- Sales between members are agreements between those members. Members are responsible for their own listings, payment, shipping and returns.
- Parts sold by ElevTrader itself are covered by the quote or invoice for that order.
Safety
Elevators and escalators are life-safety equipment. Parts must be installed, adjusted and tested only by qualified, licensed personnel in line with the applicable code (such as ASME A17.1) and local requirements. Information on ElevTrader, including forum posts and answers from Ask Joey, is general information, not professional advice. Verify safety-critical steps with a licensed elevator technician.
What you may not do
- Post anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, misleading or unsafe.
- Harass, spam or scam other members, or collect their information without permission.
- Interfere with the site, bypass its security or rate limits, or scrape it without permission.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give ElevTrader permission to host, display and share it on the site and in promoting ElevTrader. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Disclaimers
ElevTrader is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about member listings, member conduct, or the availability of the site, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Rockingham County, North Carolina.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always posted here with its effective date.
